My blog title originated from the moniker I used (still use) in the motorcycling community. I have been an active long-distance and touring motorcyclist since I
bought my first motorcycle in 2000. My current ride of choice is a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide, hence the name "girlonaglide". After re-reading the
definitions of girl and glide it dawned on me that the title still fits.
My riding days seem far behind me as I spend more time at my suburban home with my 3 cats, collection of paper art supplies, and husband of 17 years.
We occasionally busy ourselves with projects in the yard, such as growing organic vegetables and maintaining a butterfly garden.
Not often enough, we'll take on DIY projects for our "House of Potential". We bought this little fixer-upper quite some ago and have proven to
ourselves and all who know us that change doesn't happen fast here at our house.
I often daydream of living in or very near mountains where there's snow on the peaks and fertile soil beneath my feet. I'm originally from Indiana; a displaced Hoosier I'll always be.
I really have no business living in Florida but for now it is home.

while the plant is certainly a sight, i prefer the seeds
The world's best poppyseed coffee cake is made in Arcadia, WI. I can't tell you where because it is a secret I share with very few, but trust me, it's goooood.
I really love all of the photo images on your blog. You do a fantastic job of photographing your travels. Keep on biking and blogging for us to track!
